Verdict
A bright, fast-moving Disney Renaissance adventure with memorable songs, big comic energy, and a genuinely swoony romance. Its genie-powered spectacle and streetwise charm still play well, even if some character dynamics feel dated by modern standards.

Overview
Aladdin is one of the defining crowd-pleasers of the Disney Renaissance: nimble, colorful, and built around pure wish-fulfillment. The film moves with real confidence, balancing palace intrigue, slapstick, and romance without losing its sense of fun. Agrabah feels like a storybook city designed for adventure, and the animation gives every set piece a sense of motion and sparkle.
Worth noting
What still stands out most is the comic engine. The genie’s rapid-fire improvisational energy gives the movie a distinct personality, while the songs and visual storytelling keep the pace lively. The central romance works because it’s framed as escape and self-invention as much as attraction, which helps the film feel emotionally bigger than its simple setup.
Bottom line
Some elements are of their era, especially in how the story handles Jasmine and the villain’s power dynamics, but the movie’s charm remains strong. It’s easy to see why it became a childhood favorite for so many viewers: it’s funny, romantic, and endlessly rewatchable, with enough spectacle to feel magical even now.

Jasmine KISSED that bitch Jafar to give Aladdin a few seconds of free time to steal the lamp back and he WASTED those seconds staring at them in disgust and didn’t get the lamp which means she had to kiss Jafar’s ugly ass for NO REASON I can’t believe she ever forgave Aladdin for that cause I haven’t.

Rewatching this after Twisted makes you hate Aladdin so much more for how badly he slandered Jafar in his retelling >:(
