Curator Review
Verdict
A dim, noisy, and often incoherent sequel that trades the fun of monster mayhem for murky visuals and repetitive brutality. Even by franchise standards, it’s more exhausting than exciting, with little suspense, weak character work, and almost no sense of spectacle.
Best for
Completionists of the Alien/Predator franchise
Viewers who enjoy so-bad-it’s-fascinating disaster movies
Fans curious about notorious studio-era monster sequels
Skip if
You need clear action choreography or readable visuals
You want strong characters or sharp dialogue
You’re looking for a fun crossover with real pulp energy
Overview
This is the kind of franchise sequel that feels designed by committee and executed in a blackout. The premise should be irresistible — a Predator cleaning up an Alien infestation in a small town — but the movie buries it under muddy cinematography, thin characterization, and a relentless commitment to making every scene feel harder to follow than it needs to be.
Worth noting
What’s most striking is how little momentum it generates from such a simple monster-movie setup. Instead of escalating into a gleeful creature feature, it settles into grim, repetitive carnage with almost no personality. The result is less a guilty pleasure than a test of patience, though its infamous reputation does make it mildly interesting as a cautionary example of how not to stage a blockbuster horror-action crossover.
Bottom line
For viewers who enjoy watching a franchise hit rock bottom, there is a certain accidental absurdity here. But as a movie to actually recommend, it’s mostly a pass: too dark, too flat, and too forgettable to justify the runtime.

Could’ve done with a pair of those night vision goggles so I could see what the FUCK was going on in this film

Missed opportunity to have the sequel to ALIEN VS. PREDATOR just be titled ALIENS VS. PREDATORS.

I never want to watch another predator movie. I forgot that every “horror” movie from this era is dog ass. This makes the previous movie look like a masterpiece. Not even fun to watch as a joke
