Verdict
A glossy, cozy holiday rom-com with real Parisian texture and a few scene-stealing supporting turns, but the central romance and corporate premise are fairly familiar. It works best as light seasonal comfort rather than a standout entry in the genre.
Best for
holiday rom-com fans
viewers who like Paris-set escapism
fans of low-stakes, cozy streaming romances
people who enjoy supporting-character comedy
Skip if
you want sharp or surprising writing
you dislike formulaic Christmas romances
you need strong chemistry at the center
you are tired of corporate-meets-romance plots
Overview
Champagne Problems is exactly the kind of polished, mildly frothy holiday romance that knows its job: send its lead to Paris, add Christmas lights, and let a business deal turn into feelings. The setting does a lot of the heavy lifting, and the film earns some goodwill by actually using French locations and language rather than treating Paris as a cardboard backdrop.
Worth noting
What keeps it from rising above the pack is the familiar shape of the story. The executive-versus-heir setup is efficient but predictable, and the emotional beats arrive where you expect them to. The movie is at its best when it leans into workplace awkwardness, seasonal coziness, and the comic energy around the edges.
Bottom line
If you’re in the mood for a soft-focus holiday escape with champagne, snow, and a little romantic friction, it’s an easy watch. If you want a rom-com with sharper wit or more memorable passion, this one may feel pleasantly disposable.

Nothing much about the plot, but I appreciate the film for truly being set in France, with French people who actually and mostly speak French instead of English.
