The story of the unknown men unfolds.
Overview
As rival gangs, corrupt officials and a ruthless Major Iqbal close in, Hamza's mission for his country spirals into a bloody personal war where the line between patriot and monster disappears in the streets of Lyari.
A big, aggressively mounted action-crime thriller with strong performances and a propulsive revenge setup, but it also sounds overlong, repetitive, and politically loaded in a way that will alienate many viewers. If you want a loud, maximalist spectacle and can tolerate heavy-handed messaging, it may work; if you want nuance or restraint, it likely won’t.
Best for
Viewers who like large-scale Indian action thrillers
Fans of revenge stories with gangland politics
People who enjoy stylized, high-energy filmmaking
Audiences less bothered by overt political subtext
Skip if
You want tight pacing and lean storytelling
You’re sensitive to propaganda or overt ideological messaging
You prefer subtle character work over spectacle
You’re looking for a grounded, realistic crime film
Overview
Dhurandhar The Revenge looks built to overwhelm: gang warfare, institutional corruption, patriotic fervor, and a protagonist whose mission curdles into something uglier. The setup suggests a film that wants to be both a muscular thriller and a nationalistic statement, which gives it a volatile, attention-grabbing energy even before the politics enter the frame.
Worth noting
The response pattern points to a movie that is technically accomplished enough to keep people watching, especially for the performances and the scale of the set pieces, but also one that many viewers found bloated and repetitive. That combination can be intoxicating for some audiences and exhausting for others.
Bottom line
As a Curator TV pick, this lands in the “mixed” zone: interesting if you’re curious about big, divisive mainstream cinema and don’t mind a blunt instrument. If you’re looking for moral complexity or cleanly earned emotion, this probably won’t be the one.

As someone who didn’t hate the first film, this film genuinely sucks like I can’t even appreciate the filmmaking. Atleast the first film didn’t bore me, this was so repetitive and brings nothing new to the table. Everything is so predictable. The first film could have been easily been categorised as more patriotic than propaganda but this part is loudly propoganda that it is pathetic. Like direct references and justifications to actions of the government with no facts to back… more As someone who didn’t hate the first film, this film genuinely sucks like I can’t even appreciate the filmmaking. Aditya Dhar might be the most dangerous filmmaker right now. With the amount of shameless pandering this sanghi is doing right now, he is a very dangerous asset. Why? Because not only is he a propaganda tool for the current government but he's unfortunately a very good filmmaker. There's a difference between a Dhurandhar or a Kerala Story or Kashmir Files. Those films are awfully made so people could not give two fucks. But, Dhurandhar is very well made propaganda.… more Aditya Dhar might be the most dangerous filmmaker right now. So CBFC can let Dhar use Modi's name and actual footage in his 🪷 propaganda but when Anubhav Sinha or Neeraj Ghaywan want to use his announcement of COVID lockdown, they are not permitted. They are not even allowed to use the Prime Minister title and asked to change it to just minister, let alone use his name.
This alone is evident of this movie's intentions. It's also produced by Jio Studios.
