Overview
In 'Disclosure Day', Steven Spielberg attempts to weave a narrative that merges the tension of a spy thriller with the intrigue of extraterrestrial life. Emily Blunt delivers a standout performance, capturing the emotional weight of her character's journey through a world shrouded in secrecy. However, the film's pacing and narrative coherence have drawn mixed reactions, with some viewers feeling a disconnect during certain stretches.
Worth noting
The film's thematic exploration of commitment and the anxieties of modern existence, particularly in a post-9/11 context, is commendable. Yet, the execution may leave audiences wanting more in terms of clarity and focus. Ultimately, 'Disclosure Day' is a thought-provoking experience that may resonate with those who appreciate Spielberg's signature style, even if it doesn't entirely hit the mark for everyone.

Ridiculously engaging. Finds this line between operating as a straight deep-state intelligence thriller and as something on the difficulties of commitment. Carries the deep discomfort and paranoia that characterised much of Spielberg's post-9/11 work. the way it builds up to the final 30 minutes is unbelievable, my eyes were full of tears as the end credits began to roll. Found myself really moved by the palpable humanity of it all - a collective cut through government secrecy. Don’t think Emily… more Ridiculously engaging.
