Overview
Hobbs & Shaw is the kind of blockbuster that knows exactly how ridiculous it is and keeps leaning harder into the absurdity. The appeal is straightforward: two charismatic bruisers, a globe-trotting mission, and action scenes built to be bigger than logic. When it clicks, it’s a noisy, polished piece of summer entertainment with enough personality to coast on star power alone.
Worth noting
The problem is that the movie often feels like it is selling the idea of fun more than delivering it. The plot is thin, the digital action can look weightless, and the banter stretches the joke past its breaking point. David Leitch brings some kinetic flair, but the film rarely finds the clean, propulsive rhythm that makes the best action-comedies sing.
Bottom line
Still, there’s a certain appeal in its shamelessness. If you want a blockbuster that treats scale, ego, and nonsense as part of the same joke, this can go down easily enough. If you want action with sharper choreography, stronger structure, or more bite, there are better places to look.

The USA and Canada get to enjoy a new Tarantino film meanwhile the UK has this meme of a movie to dominate the weekend. :D
This Dwayne Johnson circlejerk needs to end, his dialogue at this point is literally just him bragging about how big his winky is. No exaggeration. He’s a rubbish leading man I’m afraid.
Deadpool shows up to be “funny”, it’s shit and proves yet again how one note his shtick is.

Love it. Fun and funny. Action is, as expected, very impressive. Stunts and FX are great. The whole cast is strong but Ryan Reynolds is truly hilarious. I may actually see this twice in cinemas.

Neulich, schon wieder im Meetingraum der Sevenbucks Production. Dwayne Johnson platzt verschwitzt in den Raum. Gerade eben noch hat er seine neuste "strategic partnership" gelauncht - künftig wird es nun auch "The Rock" gebrandeten Sauerstoff geben. Doch dafür ist gerade keine Zeit...die Stimmung ist erhitzt:
