Overview
A wannabe rapper from the outskirts of Mumbai and an affluent influencer elope to a coastal town, only to find themselves trapped in the pool of a derelict resort fighting for survival against the wrath of a ferocious crocodile.
A glossy, high-concept survival thriller with a pulpy romance setup and enough visual flair to make the premise pop. It sounds most rewarding as a theatrical crowd-pleaser: tense, silly, and stylish, even if the character work and chemistry may not fully land for everyone.
Best for
viewers who like creature-feature survival movies
fans of stylish, high-energy Indian thrillers
audiences looking for a big-screen crowd experience
people who enjoy romance-to-horror genre pivots
Skip if
you need tight pacing throughout
you dislike thin or uneven romantic chemistry
you want a purely grounded thriller
you’re allergic to melodrama or heightened genre swings
Overview
Tu Yaa Main looks built around a simple, effective hook: two mismatched lovers stranded in a decaying resort with a crocodile closing in. That kind of setup lives or dies on momentum, and the early response suggests the film understands spectacle, color, and tension better than restraint. The appeal here is less realism than escalation, with the movie leaning into a theatrical, crowd-reactive mode.
Worth noting
The strongest praise points to the direction, visual polish, and lead performance energy, while the main hesitation is length and whether the romance has enough spark to justify the first stretch. That imbalance is common in genre hybrids: when the setup works, the movie feels fresh; when it doesn’t, the wait for the creature action can feel long. Still, the premise is distinctive enough to stand out in a crowded thriller landscape.
Bottom line
If you like movies that start as a class-and-chemistry drama and then tip into survival chaos, this is likely to be more fun than polished. It seems designed for a loud audience, not a quiet one, and that may be exactly why it works best in theaters.

Tu Ya Main by Bejoy Nambiar is such a well cooked, stylish thriller that keeps you hooked. Bejoy direction feels unique as always, blending style with tension in a very distinct way. The writing is tight and well crafted, making the narrative feel engaging throughout. From the music department to the cinematography, everything feels finely polished. Some shots genuinely feels great with great colour contrast used in movie, shaping a strong and memorable visual identity. This shit is genuinely FUNN!!!! Pls go watch it in theatres, it's made for it. You won't get to scream "DHAKKAN BANDHH KARRR" with 20 other people at the same time in your bedroom. Had the entire audience gagged throughout the last 45 minutes screaming at the screen for their lives. Even if the first half had no crocodile stuff, it was very much enjoyable. Great performances by both the leads. When have you ever heard about bad Adarsh Gourav film anyway. Editing and cinematography tho>>>>>
