Curator Review
Verdict: A flashy spy-action sequel with star power and a few crowd-pleasing set pieces, but the overall response points to weak writing, uneven VFX, and a bloated runtime that undercuts the spectacle. It may work as noisy, high-gloss fan service for viewers already invested in the franchise, but it seems too messy and hollow to recommend broadly.
Best for: fans of big-budget Indian action extravaganzas; viewers who prioritize star charisma over narrative logic; people curious about the next chapter in the YRF Spy Universe
Skip if: you want tight plotting and clean action geography; bad visual effects pull you out of a movie quickly; you’re not already invested in the franchise or its characters
Overview: War 2 aims for the kind of maximalist spy spectacle that can turn a simple chase into an event, and it has the ingredients: two major stars, globe-trotting intrigue, and a franchise built on larger-than-life heroics. On paper, that should be enough to carry a summer action movie with swagger.
Worth noting: In practice, the reaction suggests a film that overreaches and underdelivers. The action and screen presence may provide intermittent thrills, but the storytelling appears thin, the pacing overlong, and the visual effects too inconsistent to sustain the momentum.
Bottom line: For viewers who mainly want charisma, scale, and franchise continuity, there may still be enough here to justify a watch. For everyone else, this looks like a case where the spectacle is louder than the payoff.

- Ishaan: Holy shit, this was gayer than both RRR (2022) and War (2019) combined.
- Michael James: Globe trotting spy thriller ❌Greenmat trotting spy thriller ✅
The war is definitely ON, but this time its waged against the audience though.
Except for Spain and Gulf water portions, most others looked glaringly patchy, with its VFX only exposing it further. Hrithik, Jr.NTR and some action set pieces make it watchable to an extent, however the too bland a predictable narrative takes a tedious toll and makes it too tiring.
- Meet: I was waiting for Hrithik & NTR to kiss i waited long for their kiss I would've enjoyed this movie better if they would've kissed but...
I'm still waiting for their kiss
- mayureshojha18: trash, brainless and wasted. War with every frame drowning in bizarre VFX. From fake locations to toy like vehicles, even stunt doubles faces for Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani were clearly visible. The story if we can call it that felt like it was written by a 3 year old, with a laughable flashback track and zero high stakes. Ayan Mukerji, sadly fell into the trap of over the top spectacle without substance making this a massive letdown.
